ACTIVITIES
There's something for everyone.
At U3A Mackay, our activities are the heart of what we do - offering members a rich, diverse program of classes, interest groups and social opportunities designed to stimulate the mind, body and spirit.

What You’ll Find
Our activity program spans many areas, including:
-
Creative & Performing Arts — painting, writing, music, photography
-
Health, Wellness & Movement — gentle exercise, tai chi, bocce, pickleball, line dancing, lawn bowls
-
Games & Social Groups — Mahjong, cards, trivia, board games, social lunches, movie group
-
Technology — support for computers, tablets and mobile phones
-
Special Interest — photography, gardening, small dog group, rifle shooting
Each activity is run by volunteers or member-facilitators, drawing on the skills, interests and experience of our own community. Everyone has a role: as learner, contributor or mentor.
How Activities Work
-
Flexible & Non-Competitive: There are no exams or formal assessments — learning is for pleasure and enrichment.
-
Member-Led: Members propose new topics, suggest guest speakers or start new interest groups based on demand.
-
Scheduled Across the Year: Activities run throughout each term. You can join at any time if there’s a vacancy.
-
Accessible & Inclusive: Many activities are held in accessible venues so those with mobility constraints can participate.
