Various activities and interest groups are scheduled during the year and our monthly newsletter keeps members up to date on what is happening at U3A Mackay.

WHAT U3A MACKAY OFFERS YOU

U3A Mackay offers mature age adults (generally over 50) the opportunity to learn and follow new interests, and to share with one another the knowledge and skills they have acquired over a lifetime.

U3A Mackay offers rewarding opportunities for involvement in casual and fun learning experiences, and opportunities to develop new friendships, and to be part of a vibrant community

U3A Mackay offers a wide variety of activity types, and is always welcoming ideas for new programs to add to our list.

At U3A Mackay, we aim to cater to a range of diverse interests for our community.

The U3A Activity Schedule is informed by the feedback and expressed interests of our members.

Enquiries are both welcomed and encouraged. 

Some of our Activities Include:

  • Learning New Skills: 

E.g. computers, i-pads, Android phones, ukulele

  • Creative Pursuits:

E.g. musical chimes, photography, creative writing, art, gardening

  • Games:

E.g. cards, scrabble and up words, mahjong, trivia, bocce, lawn bowls, golf croquet

  • Fitness:

E.g. exercise classes, Satyananda yoga, chair yoga, line dancing, Tai Chi, coffee & chat, movies, walking group, lunches

  • Topics of Interest:

E.g. ancient history, opera appreciation, coins, models

We would love to hear from you. We are committed to meeting the needs of our local senior lifelong learning community. If you do not see an activity that interests you we welcome your feedback. Our courses are governed by the interests of members and the expertise and availability of tutors.  If members or potential members ask for any particular subject or activity, then we try to find a volunteer tutor and a free place to meet – and away we go!!!
